Premise
Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto collaborate with the viewer to stimulate problem solving during each episode'south story.[3]
One time the problem of the episode has been explained, Mickey invites viewers to join him at the Mousekedoer, a giant Mickey-caput-shaped computer whose main office is to distribute the twenty-four hours's Mouseketools, a collection of objects needed to solve the mean solar day'due south problem, to Mickey.
One of them is a "Mystery Mouseketool" represented past a question mark, in which, when the words "Mystery Mouseketool" are said, the question mark changes into the Mouseketool the viewer gets to utilise. Another i is a "Mouseke-Think-Well-nigh-Information technology Tool" represented by a silhouette of Mickey'due south head with rotating gears, in which characters must remember of what to utilise before telling the Tool "Mouseke-Think-Nigh-Information technology-Tool, we pick the (object)". Once the tools accept been shown to Mickey on the Mousekedoer screen, they are rapidly downloaded to Toodles, a small, Mickey-head-shaped flight extension of the Mousekedoer. By calling "Oh, Toodles!" Mickey summons him to pop up from where he is hiding and fly up to the screen so the viewer tin can selection which tool Mickey needs for the current situation.[4] [five] Rhymes are used throughout the show. For example, in "Mickey's silly problem", when the "Featherbrained switch" turned on, Mickey for some reason, spoke in rhymes for one-half of the episode.
The prove features two original songs performed by American alternative rock band They Might Exist Giants, including the opening theme vocal, in which a variant of a Mickey Mouse Guild chant ("Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse!") is used to summon the Clubhouse. They Might Be Giants also perform the vocal used at the terminate of every episode, "Hot Canis familiaris!", which echoes Mickey'due south start spoken words in the 1929 brusque The Karnival Kid.[vi]
This is the first time that the major Disney characters accept regularly appeared on television receiver in computer-blithe grade. We have been on the air consistently since 2006 and we started recording in 2004. So there is ever a long pb-in fourth dimension between recording and seeing it on TV. So don't worry more is still to come, we just are non making any more."[7]

Reception
Critical reception
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse received mixed to positive reviews, Common Sense Media rated the show a 4 out of five stars: "Parents need to know that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is a lively series designed to help preschoolers acquire problem-solving and early mathematics skills – and does so in a fun, exciting manner. Although the show is very learning-focused, it's engaging without being intimidating."[3]
David Perlmutter in The Encyclopedia of American Animated Telly Shows says that the prove "was nonetheless some other case of vintage drawing characters embarrassing themselves for the enjoyment of preschoolers in a heavily dumbed-downwardly format. While it demonstrated the wide appeal of the Disney brand, information technology besides indicated that this brand could be compromised every bit any other could through clan with an inferior production."[1]
